This Privacy Policy describes how your information is handled when you use the Shepit Point application ("the App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being fully transparent about what data is (and is not) collected.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

Shepit Point does not require an account, does not collect any personal identifiable information (PII), and does not transmit any data to external servers. The App operates entirely on your local machine.

2. Audio Data

All audio recording and speech-to-text transcription happens 100% locally on your device using the Whisper machine learning model. No audio data is ever sent to any external server, cloud service, or third party. Audio is processed in real-time in memory and is never permanently stored on your device. Any temporary audio buffers or files created during the transcription process are immediately deleted as soon as transcription is complete.

3. Local Storage

The App stores your preferences (such as model selection, language settings, and shortcut configurations) locally on your Mac using standard macOS mechanisms (UserDefaults / App Sandbox). Additionally, downloaded Whisper machine learning models required for on-device transcription are stored locally in your Mac's Application Support directory. This data remains strictly on your device and never leaves it.

4. In-App Purchases

The App offers a one-time "Shepit Point Premium" purchase. All payments are processed securely by Apple via StoreKit. We do not collect, process, or have access to your payment information, credit card details, or Apple ID billing data.

5. Analytics & Crash Reporting

Shepit Point does not use any third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDK. We may receive aggregated, anonymous crash logs and analytics through Apple's built-in developer tools (Xcode Organizer / App Store Connect), which are governed by Apple's own privacy policy. This data cannot be used to identify individual users.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

Welcome to Shepit Point! By downloading or using the App, these Terms of Use automatically apply to you. Please read them carefully before using the App.

1. License to Use the App

You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use the App solely for your personal, non-commercial purposes on Apple-branded devices that you own or control.

2. Intellectual Property

The App itself — including its original code, design, user interface, and branding — is the intellectual property of the developer. Shepit Point uses open-source libraries and assets under their respective licenses (see the Licenses page for full details).

3. User-Generated Content

Any text transcriptions generated by the App remain your property. Transcriptions are produced locally and are not stored, transmitted, or accessed by us.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Copy, modify, or distribute the App or any part of it without permission.
• Attempt to extract the source code, reverse-engineer, or decompile the App.
• Use the App in any way that violates any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of bugs. Speech recognition accuracy may vary depending on audio quality, language, and device capabilities.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the App.

7. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without prior notice, if you breach these Terms.
