This Privacy Policy describes how your information is handled when you use the FlagBar application ("the App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being fully transparent about what data is (and is not) collected.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

FlagBar does not require an account, does not collect any personal identifiable information (PII), and does not transmit any data to external servers. The App operates entirely on your local machine.

2. Local Storage

The App stores your preferences (such as selected flag images, icon size, and app settings) locally on your Mac using standard macOS mechanisms (UserDefaults / App Sandbox). This data never leaves your device.

3. Custom Images

If you use the Premium feature to assign custom images to keyboard layouts, those images are stored locally in the App's sandbox container on your device. We have no access to these images.

4. In-App Purchases

The App offers a one-time "FlagBar Premium" purchase. All payments are processed securely by Apple via StoreKit. We do not collect, process, or have access to your payment information, credit card details, or Apple ID billing data.

5. Analytics & Crash Reporting

FlagBar does not use any third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDK. We may receive aggregated, anonymous crash logs and analytics through Apple's built-in developer tools (Xcode Organizer / App Store Connect), which are governed by Apple's own privacy policy. This data cannot be used to identify individual users.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

Welcome to FlagBar! By downloading or using the App, these Terms of Use automatically apply to you. Please read them carefully before using the App.

1. License to Use the App

You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use the App solely for your personal, non-commercial purposes on Apple-branded devices that you own or control.

2. Intellectual Property

The App itself — including its original code, design, user interface, and branding — is the intellectual property of the developer. Flag icons used within the App are derived from the open-source flag-icons project by Panayiotis Lipiridis and are used under the MIT License (see the Licenses page for full details).

3. User-Generated Content

Any custom images you import into the App remain your property. You are solely responsible for ensuring that you have the right to use any images you import.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Copy, modify, or distribute the App or any part of it without permission.
• Attempt to extract the source code, reverse-engineer, or decompile the App.
• Use the App in any way that violates any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.

5. Premium Purchase

FlagBar offers a one-time "Premium" in-app purchase to unlock additional features (such as custom images and emoji). If you choose to purchase Premium:

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at the confirmation of purchase.
• The purchase is a one-time, non-recurring payment with no subscription.
• All transactions are handled by Apple; the developer has no access to your payment information.
• Refund requests are subject to Apple's refund policy.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of bugs.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the App.

8. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without prior notice, if you breach these Terms.

Hi, I'm Andrii Staryk — an independent macOS & iOS developer from Ukraine. I love building apps that are simple, beautiful, and genuinely useful.

FlagBar started as a personal need: I was tired of not knowing at a glance which keyboard layout was active. So I built a tiny app that puts a country flag right in the menu bar — and decided to share it.
